Jill McGowan MN. DipCPN .CertFE. RGN.RNMH. FPC MBIBH.

Jill is a lecturer at the University of Paisley School of Nursing. She completed her Buteyko Practitioner Training in 2001 and is currently working on building a profile as a practitioner. She has organised and funded a Clinical Trial to test the method and give evidence of it`s success in Asthma management. Jill is working to make the method available on the NHS and to be adopted into current Asthma Management Protocols.
Jill has worked as a Community Nurse and Practice Nurse, throughout the East end of Glasgow from the late 1980s to 1998, gaining a vast amount of experience and education in the area of conventional Asthma Management .


Paul M O'Connell. BSc, Dip Ed, MBA, MBIBH

Paul was taught the method for his asthma in 1994 after having been on medication from the age of five. He quickly achieved outstanding results and marked improvement in symptoms. He then began working with Alexandre Stalmatski toward initiating a Clinical Trial and a subsequent publication in a medical journal. Paul went on to train as a Buteyko Practioner, and has now been teaching and lecturing on Buteyko practice for over eight years. Paul currently teaches the Buteyko Method to people suffering from various conditions including; asthma, hay fever, sinusitis, sleep apnoea, snoring, allergies, anxiety disorders, and chronic fatigue syndrome.

Paul is committed to improving community health , and as a founding member and currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Buteyko Institute, aims to promote professional research, development and training in Buteyko`s principles of natural healing and health maintenance, through breathing retraining
